On the 18th-20th June it's time to don those novelty hats and sunglasses and head out to the Cirencester Cotswolds for a boutique music festival. Winterwell is testament to the fact that bigger doesn't always make for a better festival.
Founded four years ago by event organiser Josh Ford and musician Natalie Vincini, the festival will take place in a sweeping valley in the heart of the Cotswolds and promises to be a truly unforgettable musical and visual display. Winterwell festival will take place in a secret location near Cirencester, Gloucestershire.
Fancy dress is fundamental to Winterwell and this year’s theme is extremely original, being “The Entire Works of Roald Dahl”. Whether you come as The Trunchbull, The Twits, or James and the Giant Peach – or simply drink a gallon of George’s Marvellous Medicine- the possibilities are endless and the results will be spectacular.
On arrival at the site, guests will enter a Willy Wonka Wonderland with giant lollipops and a Wonka’s Chocolate Van and maybe even some oompa loompas frolicking in the grass.
Musically speaking, Winterwell prides itself on upcoming acts. Three of last year’s bands have since performed on the Jules Holland show. This year the acclaimed Norman Jay and DJ Yoda and the debutants, We Have Band will headline alongside Wolfgang, Animal Kingdom, Kubb, Lail Arad, The Crookes, ExLovers, 6 Day Riot, Lulu and The Lampshades, The Beaux Belles, Agent Lynch, His Girl Friday, The Fontanas, DJ Nickodemus (NYC) and Sofrito Sound System.
