Gordon Ramsay's Foxtrot Oscar, Chelsea

Posted in Where to Eat & Drink Now

If you have a love for Celebrity chefs cuisine but don't always want to pay the prices that go with them then we have found you a great restaurant to get your teeth into...Foxtrot Oscar.

Not to be confused with Gordon Ramsay's flagship restaurant Royal Hospital Road, Foxtrot Oscar is the perfect informal hideaway in Chelsea and even though the menu is small all the dishes are perfectly formed.

As we walked through the doors of the restaurant we were shown to our table, which was one of only maybe 15 in the upstairs but I liked this intimate setting, as we weren't too close to people so that everyone could her our conversation and instead of a traditional bar at the end of the room there was a table full of different wines and champagnes that were being chilled and ready to be poured....it was just like being at home.

When I looked through the menu, I was pleased to see only a few dishes per course as it gave me high hopes that what was going to be delivered was going to be cooked really well and was also going to be fresh! To start with I had the marrow bones with a parmesan crust, which although was a risk as I hadn't eaten marrow since I was a child paid off and it was mouth wateringly delicious, my partner had the Scottish Smoked Salmon which was most certainly the healthier option and was equally tasty.

For main course I decided to try the Grilled Onglet with roasted field mushrooms...the fish was nice and flakey and the watercress sauce complimented it perfectly. However, although my partner went for the healthy starter his good intentions seemed to quickly go out the window when he spotted the Foxtrot Cheeseburger...what is it with boys and burgers!?!? This burger came out on a wooden board and was devoured at the rate of knots so I didn't even need to ask if it was nice.

Even though our bellies were full and the wine that the Maitre D' had chosen to compliment out dishes was making us sit back in our seats thinking that it might be time to loosen the belt buckle slightly, we ploughed on and braved dessert......ah, sticky toffee pudding my favourite....and yes, we ate it all!!

Foxtrot Oscar is the perfect restaurant for casual dining, but with great quality food and a nice intimate setting....I will definitely be going back.

Top Tip......Foxtrot Oscar have a special offer on at the moment where you can get 3 courses and 2 glasses of wine 30GBP
